How to make payments for balance due on tax returns or estimated tax payments

Federal Balance Due and Estimated Tax Payments:

Electronic Funds Withdrawal

  • Can be set up when we are finalizing your tax return (only if we are e-filing your tax return).
  • Can be done through EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System)
  • Both of these options are FREE
  • You choose the date that you want the funds withdrawn

Pay by credit card or debit card

  • This can only be done through an authorized service provider.  Click here to go to the IRS list of providers.

  • There is a fee charged by service providers (ranging from 1.90% to 2.35% for credit cards or a flat fee ranging from $3.89 to $3.95 for debit cards)The IRS doesnÂ’t receive or store card numbers.

Pay by vouchers

  • You can mail in the pre-printed voucher that we will give you along with your check.

 

Wisconsin Balance Due and Estimated Tax Payments

Electronic Funds Withdrawal

  • Can be set up when we are finalizing your tax return (only if we are e-filing your tax return).
  • This can only be set up for a balance due.  Estimated tax payments cannot be set up this way.
  • Can be done through The Wisconsin Department of Revenue Website.
  • These options are FREE
  • You choose the date that you want funds withdrawn.

  • IF YOU RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE MANDATING THE USE OF ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS, YOU CANNOT USE VOUCHERS.
